I have always wanted to do something with this view along the trail to Trinidad State Beach. I love tree portraits, trees have such graceful movement, as if I can see how the air passes through them! In the distance is Pewatoli Island, one of my favorite Islands to paint. It's like a bite sized treat with all the flavors that make the coastline so tasty!
It was so helpful to explore this scene with photoshop, the new medium has the flexibility to move elements like branches and islands around until they really flow together, composition is so integral to my process, that having these powerful tools is absolutely compelling!
